    SUMMARY

    Acts as a liaison between Supplies on the Fly, Central Warehouse, and Corporate departments.   Works with internal and external teams to manage inventories, market, and sell aging inventories.   Handles product inquiries and promotes the sale of supplies and equipment.  This position will be located in Cypress, TX.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Create and add items to SUS (Sysco Uniform Systems) based on business needs and ensure data attributes are accurate. Ensures discontinuations, and inactivations are process throughout the network.  
    • Addresses quality problems with suppliers
    • Communicates central warehouse stock statuses to operating companies
    • Manages pricing for corporate billed vendors by coordinating efforts with category management, sourcing, and suppliers. Maintains market costs and pricing at Central Warehouse
    • Fosters relationships with national sales to ensure spec products are meeting case movement requirements, and aging inventory is being sold.
    • Coordinates discontinuations, additions, LTO’s with client services to ensure proper inventory levels or depletion of inventory
    • Ensures supplier data is updated and maintained. Coordinates with internal departments
    • Manages corporate packaging initiatives for Sysco Brand. Ensures suppliers are adhering to data and packaging requirements for the brand.
    • Handles supplier inquiries relating to Operating company sales pricing
    • Coordinates the launch of cutting edge solution product
    • Brings new suppliers through Sysco corporate on boarding. Ensures all suppliers are up to date with required COI’s and Hold harmless agreements
    • Works with national sales teams to identify new products and establish appropriate pricing
    • Works with Supplies on the Fly and Central Warehouse to produce marketing materials for products.  Produces catalogs, LTO’s, Foodie magazine ads, and hot sheets to highlight products.  Utilizes Sysco Kitchen to promote MA education about products
    • Works with Operating Companies to increase compliance to category management items and the national assortment.
    • Manages agreements and coordinates their distribution to operating companies, central warehouse, and Supplies on the Fly
    • Creates and runs reports to analyze sales by customer, vendor, category
    • Serves as a product advisor for remote programs and works with SBS to ensure billing, payments, and cancellations are coordinated and completed throughout the entire network, including the customer
    • Manages inbound claims
    • Assist with communications to operating companies regarding inventory returns, discrepant quantities and pricing issues and product availability.
    • Seek and maintain knowledge of systems for inventory management.
    • Understand and comply with all applicable company policies (i.e. attendance, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Associate Handbook, etc.).
    • Comply with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations and policies (i.e. OSHA, HACCP, etc.).
    • Support food safety policies, standard operating procedures, and prerequisite food safety control programs that meet legal and quality requirements and industry best practices as defined in our Food Safety Commitment documentation.
    • Report any unresolved issues to supervisor.
    • Observe all safety rules in an effort to reduce accidents and injuries and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
    • Accept additional responsibilities or special projects as requested. Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum of 5 years of experience supplies and equipment foodservice merchandising or applicable experience in related industries such as retail preferred.

     

    High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.  Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, business, or equivalent experience preferred.  Knowledge of Sysco product (or knowledge of foodservice supplies and equipment) SUS and RME systems preferred.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Must have effective written and oral communication skills with good vocabulary, proper grammar and the ability to independently compose written communications.  Must have the ability to accurately listen to customer inquiries and use experience and judgment to meet customer needs.  Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Must be able to compute discounts, rate, ratio, and percent. 

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Must be able to work in a proactive manner, address issues, and solve problems by using previous education and experience in identifying appropriate actions.  Problems will vary in complexity and there will not always be a clearly defined solution.  Some solutions may require modifying past applications or creating a solution unique to the current situation, but within the regulations that would apply.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Job is performed in an office environment.  The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate.

     

    WORK HOURS

    This is a full-time position.  The incumbent must have the ability to work a varying schedule on weekdays, but may be required to work weekends, and some holidays.  Work hours may vary or change based on customer order requirements.

     

    TRAVEL

    This position may require travel up to 5%.
